I’ve known Paul for almost 30 years and a more helpful, generous and caring person you couldn’t hope to meet. Both Paul and Nicky made me feel a part of their family, and a 10 minute visit would invariable end up with an extra place at the table magically appearing and me rolling home fed and watered several hours later. I’ve lost count of the number of times I called upon Paul as I panicked about a leaking pipe or whatever and every time he’d pop round with his bag of tools (usually with at least two of everything you could think of) and in no time flat, everything would be sorted. But that was Paul, nothing was ever too big a problem or chore and he was always freely giving his time to help others – never asking for anything in return. I was so honoured to have Paul as my Best Man at my wedding, a role he took to with great relish and gusto. I remember fondly the time spent in Inverness on my stag do and not just because of the various distillery visits along with the calm reassuring presence he was on my wedding day. Every time I go to Cliveden for my daily walk I expect to see Paul walking with dogs and still can’t quite believe that he has gone. My heart goes out to Nicky, Chris, Ruth, Abby and Gordon for I know the pain and feeling of loss which I have is nothing compared to theirs. Goodbye to Paul - my friend. Dave
