Dear Dow family. I was very sad to hear of Paul's sudden passing. Paul and I worked at Sybase for many years, me in Support needing Paul's guidance and influence to solve customer issues. I really appreciated his down to earth nature and ability to take the sting out of a hot customer issues. On a more personal level, I got to know Paul as part of the very enjoyable Friday pub sessions and, later, a shared interest in rugby and especially women's rugby when my daughter started playing too and Abby started to become a national player. The last time I saw Paul those things came together, when I took my daughter to see Abby play an England international in Bedford and we had a catch-up on the sidelines. He has been taken way too young and I am wishing you strength in dealing with this and I hope it brings some comfort to know how well he was regarded and fun to be around.
